Nigeria: GOVERNOR ZULUM CANVASS FOR SOUTHEAST PRESIDENCY IN 2023
Governor Zulum who is also a Professor has advocated for power shift to the south in 2023
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has urged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to keep faith with previous agreements and shift power to the southern part of the country. The Governor made this position know while delivering a lecture on Thursday on security and economic growth at a book launch by former Director-General of NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside, titled ”Strategic Turnaround”.
Governor Babagana Zulum who is also a Professor specifically asked for political power be given to the South-East, South-West or South-South regions, stating that they should be allowed to compete amongst themselves come 2023. He also cleared the air regarding rumours of his ambition to clinch the vice president ticket in 2023. Professor Zulum reiterated that he had no desire to rule the country now and was solely focused on tackling the insecurity challenges in his state.
According to the governor, military interventions and even national restructuring is not the panacea for the insecurity crisis bedevilling and crippling the nation. He called for strategic leadership and social re-orientation to end the insecurity in the country.
