Eid-el-Fitr:  Adeboboye Congratulates Muslims, Calls For Unity To Counter Insecurity and Poverty in Africa 

The  President of Congress of African journalists, CAJ, Comrade Michael Adeboboye has congratulated Muslims all over Africa  on the successful completion of the Month of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration that accompanied it.

Speaking on the eve of Eid- el- Fitr celebration on Thursday morning, the CAJ President called on Muslims in Africa and all over the world not to loose sight of lessons that the fasting in the month of Ramadan brought, adding that peace, sacrifice and harmony should be at the hearts of all Muslims .


"I heartily congratulate Muslim Ummah in Africa, Asia, Europe, America , Australia, Asia and Antarctic on the  successful completion of the Ramadan and celebration of Eid-el-Fitr

"In view of the fasting during the month of Ramadan and the lessons that accompanies it, I urge everyone Muslims, Christians, non Muslims and non Christians to pray for peace in Africa as our continent is bedecked with insecurity and poverty.

"Insecurity in form of banditry, ethnic cum religious crises and extreme poverty is seriously destroying the fabrics of African continent but with serious prayers and unity amongst us , we shall overcome" said Adeboboye

Adeboboye further urged Journalists in Africa to come together and fight against any form of injustice , bad governance and any other vices militating against the progress of the continent.

"Let us use the renewed  strength gathered during the Month of Ramadan  and our profession as media practitioners to save  our continent  from the rising cases of insurgency, banditry and arson that we are witnessing," he said.

The CAJ President also warned  against breaking covid-19 safety protocols during and after the Sallah celebration, reminding all  that the global pandemic, was still a threat to mankind.

He advised Africans  irrespective of ethnic and religious differences, to be their brother's keeper and share their resources with the less privileged in the society.
